Logo and brand design for Latin superstar René “Residente” Perez Joglar and Sony Music Entertainment. 1868 STUDIOS aims to tell the untold stories of Latin America and its people while connecting to the existing Residente brand.
Team: Mie Sophie Bak, Alex Turner

Background:
The name 1868 STUDIOS pays tribute to the historic event of "El Grito de Lares" — the rebellion against Spain in 1868, which encapsulates the spirit of Puerto Rico.
The logo draws inspiration from the precision of a machete, incorporating sharp cuts as a fundamental design principle. The machete holds immense cultural value and symbolism, especially in Latin American countries, representing strength and resilience.
